Andrej Bitter (born 1952) is an artist and designer from St. Petersburg. He studied fine arts and design at the local art academy. After graduating, he worked with his wife, the artist Marina Bitter (born 1958), on many large-scale murals, participated in numerous exhibitions and art competitions, and designed interior architecture.
From 1989 to 1994, Andrej Bitter worked on huge stone mosaics and stone sculptures.
His innovative transformation painting concept has been very successfully received.
Since 1996 he has lived with his family in Berlin (his son Andrej Wolff also works here as an artist) and is artistically active in many ways.
Andrej Bitter has been running a weekly art class for groups since 2001. Through his individual portfolio preparation, he has successfully helped aspiring young artists gain admission to art colleges.
Since the beginning of the United Buddy Bears project, which brings people together, Andrej Bitter has been involved in many projects related to the Berlin Buddy Bears, for which he is highly regarded as the studio's artistic director.
