Eva Herlitz, born on 28 July 1952 in Solingen, died on 26 February 2021 in Innsbruck, was a German educator and primary school teacher. She lived in Berlin from 1971, became a mother of three sons and founded the Buddy Bär Berlin GmbH together with her husband, Dr Klaus Herlitz, in 2001. She was the originator and initiator of the United Buddy Bears project, which was implemented one year later and is still successfully travelling worldwide. Eva Herlitz dedicated herself to many children's aid organisations voluntarily. She founded her organisation, which is still committed to helping children in need today: Buddy Bear Help e.V. In addition, Eva Herlitz worked creatively and also implemented some designs for the Buddy Bears, which, true to her motto, "Spread a little light - every day, in some little way...", express her ideas in bright, golden colour and yet discreetly.
