Gizz Farell was born on 2 November 1963 in Windhoeck, Namibia. She studied fashion design at the College in Cape Town. She worked as a freelance artist in arts and crafts (costume jewellery, silver jewellery, glass constructions, batik, candles and woodwork) from 1982. Since 1989, she has continued her self-taught training in Berlin, including carving, linoleum printing, painting, coin sawing on paper and walls, Tiffany technique, paper-mâché sculptures, clothing design and currently leatherwork (footwear and clothing).
Since 2002: Expansion of the art workshop and gallery "Inselspinnen" on Eiswerder Island in Spandau.
